Here are some tips for when to wear what types of lingerie - whether you want it to be totally invisible under your outfit or be a bit more integrated into your overall look.

Everyday solutions:

Under jeans, we prefer something not too bulky. Whether you are a thong or brief wearer, we have high waist and low rise solutions galore. We love La Fille d'O because their sheer styles are the absolute minimum in style but the absolute maximum in conscious production and well-made longevity, not to mention feminist, flattering cuts that consider the most minute details for ultimate comfort and beauty.

Else also provides fabrics with pizazz and everyday cuts, refreshingly free of fussiness but definitely not short on style.

In summer as an easy onesie, a bodysuit is also a great option, like this one from Kent Woman. Super cute with some jean shorts for a casual look or silk pants for something more formal. No bra, no panties, and no shirt required. In winter a bodysuit is great as an extra layer with jeans and your favorite sweater for those cozy and sexy vibes.

Under a t-shirt, we love a simple cut-and-sewn bra. You'd be surprised how invisible these appear under a t-shirt, we promise. And the shape and support provided by bras like Fran, Luna, Fast Girls, and Chloe is unparalleled compared to hard molded cup, traditionally called "T-Shirt Bras."

Under a sweater dress or sun dress, there's nothing better than a great slip. Or surprising garter set. Let us explain....In winter, getting dressed becomes pretty boring. But this is one of the many places that great lingerie can save the day. Pair a matching bra, suspender belt, and panty with some thigh-high socks, knee boots, and a sweater dress, and you'll be feeling as put together as anyone. It will put your day on a whole new level. Garters feel too fussy? No worries, ditch the suspender belt and socks and swap for some fun tights and slip dress for the same effect with less technical skills required! Same principle applies to a sundress in the summer -- get a little wild with a printed slip dress under your sheer vintage, or bolder still, try showing a little retro glam with your intimates peeking out from that midsummer night's ensemble.

Bodycon dresses call for a perfect fit on top with no bulging, and a panty a seamless booty and a smooth fit over the tummy. We generally recommend a high waist panty for the maximum cooperation between your dress and intimates. Our favorite for this is the Luna set from Fortnight. The wireless top and flattering, fold-over finishing on the matching high-waist bottoms smooth everything out on all sizes while still being sexy and comfortable (vs. the sausage casing effect of most shape wear). Need a strapless option? No problem - Petunia or Fran also work wonders.

Backless tops or evening wear are perpetually tricky for which to find an intimates solution that is invisible. Because of this, we say go for it and have  visible (but beautiful and tasteful, of course!) undergarments. Why not try something minimalist like Fast Girls, whose shoulder straps can be worn halter neck, criss cross, or straight up, and only have a thin band across the back that doesn't necessarily scream "BRA STRAP" - in many cases it ends up blending into the back of the dress quite nicely as if it was meant to be there. Similarly, Fleur of England's Boudoir Bras have gorgeous silk straps and bands, and some even have lace detailing at the neck that can add a sophisticated, jewelry-like detail. Want to be a bit bolder? Try a Studio Pia or Bordelle stunner for maximum impact.

Got another lingerie-fashion emergency? Don't hesitate to reach out! In addition to intimates we love style in general and would be happy to help you find a solution.
